SGBs should be the main point of contact for all aspects of performance. Contact details for these can be found in the “see also” section in the right hand panel.

Local authorities also play a crucial role and can provide access to essential support in the form of courses, facility use and access to grants and other funding.

The Scottish Institute of Sport (SIS) is the high performance arm of sportscotland, preparing Scotland's best athletes to perform on the world stage. The six Area Institutes of Sport in Scotland operate regionally to help improve athlete performances on their road to the world stage. More information and contact details for the national and regional institutes can be found from its website, detailed in the “see also” section in the right hand panel.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have created renewed emphasis on performance. Now is the time for all those involved in sport to benefit from these significant events and the legacy they will leave. Stay up to date with preparations for 2014 through the Glasgow2014 website.
